“Pain and animal health”: 4th call for projects

26th September 2022

As the first research foundation in the field of pain, the ANALGESIA Institute is launching for the 4th year the call for STARTER projects “Pain & Animal Health” for an amount of €18,000, thanks to the support of Dômes Pharma Group.

The field of pain requires therapeutic progress. To meet this major challenge, the ANALGESIA Institute has set itself the task of supporting innovation in this field based on the One Health concept: a single health for humans and animals. By bringing together doctors and veterinarians, this approach proposes a new R&D model that is inspired by the patient, whether human or animal, in order to propose new treatments that will benefit both humans and animals.

A historic player in the veterinary pharmaceutical industry in France, the Dômes Pharma Group has placed the quality of the human/animal relationship at the heart of its vision of health, as illustrated by its slogan “Linked by nature”. By associating with the ANALGESIA Institute, the Group’s objective is to act so that the knowledge, consideration and treatment of animal pain, the existence of which has only been truly recognised since the 1980s, can also benefit from the latest research advances.

The Dômes Pharma Group’s commitment to the ANALGESIA Institute has been formalised for the past 4 years by the award of the “ANALGESIA – Dômes Pharma: pain and animal health” prize. For this 4th edition, the ANALGESIA Institute will award a starter funding of 18,000 euros. This amount is intended to help an academic team wishing to develop an original research theme on pain in animal health, to acquire or complete preliminary results which will then enable it to apply for competitive calls for projects (e.g. ANR, PIA, Horizon Europe…).

The call for projects is open to all academic teams (French or not) doing research in this field.

A jury composed of both experts in pain research and experts in animal health will evaluate the applications submitted by the candidates. At the end of this evaluation, the Foundation’s Scientific Council will decide on the successful application.
